Gaya Airport hosts CISF mock drill to test security response for suspected IED
GAYA, June 7, 2026 — The Central Industrial Security Force at Gaya Airport conducted a comprehensive mock exercise simulating a crisis scenario involving an unattended bag and a suspected Improvised Explosive Device.
The drill was designed to evaluate emergency preparedness and enhance coordinated response capabilities under simulated threat conditions at the transit hub.
The security exercise was carried out in close coordination with key aviation stakeholders, including the Central Industrial Security Force Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, the canine team, airline representatives from IndiGo, and Airports Authority of India officials.
The joint operation allowed teams to assess current response mechanisms, check overall operational readiness, and strengthen inter-agency coordination.
Airport security officials emphasized that such routine exercises play a critical role in reinforcing emergency preparedness, improving response effectiveness, and sustaining a high level of aviation security readiness.
