RANCHI, June 19, 2026 — The Indian Army successfully concluded its four-day mega eye care camp, Drishti 2026, today at the Military Hospital in Namkum, marking a major milestone in humanitarian healthcare for the region.

Organized under the Eastern Command by the Brahmastra Corps, the intensive medical drive ran from June 16 to June 19. The initiative brought top-tier medical expertise directly to the local population, utilizing senior ophthalmologists and specialist medical teams from the prestigious Army Hospital Research and Referral in New Delhi.

Over the course of the four-day camp, the dedicated expert medical teams delivered comprehensive eye examinations, advanced diagnostic investigations, specialist consultations, and critical sight-restoring treatments.

Approximately 2,500 beneficiaries availed themselves of these advanced services, including veterans, Veer Naris, military families, and residents from Ranchi and surrounding tribal areas.

Medical teams successfully performed a total of 393 eye surgeries during the camp, giving hundreds of individuals from underserved communities the life-changing opportunity to regain their vision and significantly improve their daily quality of life.

The valedictory ceremony, held at the Trinetra Auditorium, was graced by Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth as the chief guest, who was accompanied by Lieutenant General Yash Ahlawat, General Officer Commanding of the Brahmastra Corps. The program commenced with the screening of a special documentary showcasing the overall functioning, screening processes, and daily activities of the eye care camp.

A major highlight of the event was the felicitation ceremony, where Sanjay Seth personally honored the dedicated members of Team Drishti, including the specialist doctors, medical personnel, and selected beneficiaries.

During his address, Sanjay Seth commended the tireless efforts, meticulous planning, and spirit of service demonstrated by the medical specialists and organizing staff. He stated that such initiatives reflect the military’s deep commitment to public welfare and play a vital role in delivering quality healthcare services to underserved sections of society.

The successful completion of Drishti 2026 serves as a powerful reminder that the responsibility of the armed forces extends well beyond safeguarding national borders to actively nurturing the health, trust, and well-being of the citizens.
