Dr Shahid Iqbal Reviews Sports Infrastructure and Facilities at GCOPE Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, JUNE 11 — Commissioner Secretary of Youth Services & Sports (YSS), Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, alongside Director General YSS Anuradha Gupta, conducted a comprehensive visit to the Government College of Physical Education (GCOPE) in Gadoora to review its sports infrastructure, academic performance, and ongoing developmental projects.

During a detailed review meeting with the college principal and faculty, Dr Shahid assessed the progress of construction works aimed at boosting training amenities and inspected the advanced Sports Science and Research Laboratory, where B.P.Ed. and M.P.Ed. students demonstrated high-tech testing tools like force plate analysis and magnetic timing gates.

Praising the institution’s state-of-the-art facilities for athlete performance enhancement, the Commissioner Secretary directed the optimum utilization of this infrastructure, suggested introducing new diploma and certificate courses, and interacted directly with students to address their feedback. The visit concluded with the officials witnessing an insightful presentation on bridging physical education with health sciences and interacting with young athletes participating in the ongoing Inter-Zone Badminton Competition on campus.
