RANAGHAT, ARUNACHAL PRADESH — JUNE 29, 2026 — Project BRAHMANK, a vital arm of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), proudly celebrated its 16th Raising Day today at its headquarters in Ranaghat, Arunachal Pradesh, marking fifteen years of unwavering and dedicated service toward enhancing strategic infrastructure and socio-economic connectivity in India’s northeastern frontier. Initially raised on June 29, 2011, in the East Siang District and becoming fully functional by December 3, 2011, the project has successfully overcome formidable challenges including rugged mountainous terrain, dense forests, incessant rainfall, and isolated logistical networks to seamlessly bridge the gap between remote areas and the national mainstream. Over the years, it has established itself as an indispensable asset by providing crucial operational and strategic connectivity to the Indian Armed Forces while simultaneously driving the holistic development of local communities across the Siang, East Siang, West Siang, Upper Siang, and Shi-Yomi districts of Arunachal Pradesh, along with key portions of the Dhemaji district in neighboring Assam.

Currently entrusted with the comprehensive maintenance and development of a massive 811 kilometers of roadways and approximately 86 diverse bridges—spanning from basic culverts to highly sophisticated, large-scale steel and arch structures—Project BRAHMANK continues to showcase elite engineering capabilities in the region. Among its most notable architectural and engineering triumphs are the monumental 100-meter steel arch bridge spanning the Siyom Nallah and the impressive 165-meter Prestressed Concrete (PSC) bridge over the Simang Nallah, both of which are located along the critical Along–Yingkiong Road axis. The project’s momentum reached new heights during the recent financial year of 2025–26, during which it achieved major operational milestones by successfully constructing and inaugurating 13 new bridges with a cumulative span of 390 meters across the strategic Siang and Siyom Valleys. Furthermore, the dedicated personnel achieved the blacktopping of 61 kilometers of critical roads up to National Highway Double Lane (NHDL) specifications, while also developing high-altitude helipads to vastly improve emergency aerial connectivity and solidify the country’s border infrastructure. To commemorate this landmark 16th anniversary, a series of vibrant social outreach programs, welfare activities, Sainik Sammelans, interactive sessions, and traditional Bada Khana community feasts were organized across the headquarters and various field task force locations, fostering a deep sense of camaraderie, morale, and pride among the hardworking personnel who continue to build prosperity through connectivity.

ULAANBAATAR, June 29, 2026 :- The Indian Army contingent participating in Exercise Khaan Quest 2026 is actively engaged in demanding operational training modules and team-building activities at the Five Hills Training Area in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Conducted under the United Nations Chapter VII framework, this multinational exercise provides a platform for enhancing interoperability, sharing best practices, and strengthening cooperation among participating nations.

During the mid-exercise training phase, Indian Army personnel undertook counter-improvised explosive device operations, tactical combat casualty care, convoy protection drills, and briefings on international humanitarian law. These modules prepare peacekeepers to operate effectively in complex mission areas where they must protect personnel, ensure safe movement of supplies, and uphold high standards of disciplined conduct.

The contingent also rehearsed key peacekeeping drills, including checkpoint procedures, cordon and search operations, mob control, protection of United Nations assets, and humanitarian assistance to civilians.

This training reinforces the multidimensional role of modern peacekeepers, who must combine tactical proficiency with restraint and respect for civilian life in challenging environments.Alongside professional training, soldiers of the JAT Regiment demonstrated their physical endurance and sporting spirit through participation in multinational CrossFit and volleyball competitions.

Their performance reflected strength, stamina, and teamwork, drawing appreciation from troops of partner nations. These sporting events fostered camaraderie and mutual respect among soldiers from different countries.Drawing upon decades of experience in United Nations peacekeeping, the Indian Army contingent continues to display high standards of professionalism and operational preparedness.

Exercise Khaan Quest 2026 reaffirms India’s commitment to global peace, stability, and international cooperation while contributing to the development of mission-ready multinational peacekeeping forces.

BHANDARA, June 29, 2026 — The National Highways Authority of India has successfully operationalized the 14.8-kilometer-long Bhandara Bypass on National Highway 53, a critical infrastructure project designed to alleviate urban congestion and enhance regional logistics.

The newly constructed bypass features a major bridge over the Wainganga River, providing a seamless transport corridor that significantly improves connectivity between the major economic hubs of Nagpur and Raipur.

By diverting heavy commercial vehicles away from the congested internal roads of Bhandara city, the project successfully eliminates persistent traffic bottlenecks and streamlines long-distance transit.

The strategic diversion of freight and heavy traffic from urban zones has led to a measurable reduction in localized traffic congestion, lowering the risk of road accidents within municipal limits.

Additionally, the continuous, uninterrupted flow of vehicles on the bypass has minimized travel times, contributing to decreased fuel consumption and a reduction in vehicular emissions.

By establishing a safer and more efficient travel experience, the highway corridor optimizes logistics operations, facilitates the rapid movement of goods, and acts as a catalyst for economic growth and commercial development across the region.
