Assam Rifles Launches Agniveer Training and Weaving Programs to Empower Manipur Youth and Women

IMPHAL, June 23, 2026 — Assam Rifles has launched a series of community-focused initiatives aimed at youth development and women’s empowerment across various districts of Manipur.

In Kakching and Chandel districts, the forces are currently conducting a comprehensive five-month Agniveer pre-recruitment training program, which provides aspiring local candidates with rigorous physical training, written test preparation, and professional mentorship to help them secure positions in the Indian Armed Forces.

Simultaneously, Assam Rifles successfully concluded a three-month weaving and yarning training program in Churachandpur district, equipping 15 local women with essential vocational skills to support sustainable livelihoods and promote financial independence within the community.
