Army Conducts Vehicle Maintenance Initiative in Garhwal Sector to Strengthen Forward Readiness

JOSHIMATH, June 6, 2026 — The Indian Army Ibex Eagles reaffirmed their commitment to operational excellence and sustained combat readiness by organizing a Forward Repair Camp at Joshimath in the Garhwal Sector.

The specialized maintenance camp is being conducted in collaboration with Mahindra Defence Systems Limited to upgrade and service fleet assets deployed in the strategic high-altitude region.

A major focus of the technical initiative includes the retrofitting of brake pad wear indicators on Light Specialist Vehicle Armado vehicles. This specific upgrade will enable drivers and technical teams to identify brake pad wear in real time, ensuring timely preventive maintenance.

Improving these indicators enhances overall equipment reliability and mission safety while navigating the highly challenging and rugged forward terrain.The technical camp reflects a strong civil-military synergy and a shared commitment between the armed forces and defense manufacturers toward operational effectiveness.
