Air Vice Marshal GKJ Reddy takes charge as Commandant of College of Defence Management Secunderabad
SECUNDERABAD June 05,2026 — Air Vice Marshal GKJ Reddy assumed the appointment of Commandant at the College of Defence Management in Secunderabad, succeeding Major General G Srinivas, who moves on to take charge as the General Officer Commanding of the Telangana and Andhra Sub Area.
A distinguished fighter pilot and Category A Qualified Flying Instructor, Reddy brings a wealth of operational and leadership experience to the prestigious institution, having most recently served as the Associate Director of the Project Management Team at the Aeronautical Development Establishment under the Defence Research and Development Organisation.
Commissioned in 1990 from the Air Force Academy in Dundigal, the new Commandant is a seasoned alumnus of the National Defence Academy with an exceptional aviation record of over 4,500 hours of incident-free flying across multiple aircraft platforms, including the MiG-21, MiG-29 UPG, HPT, and Hawk.
His highly decorated academic and military background also includes graduations from the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington, the Higher Air Command Course at the College of Air Warfare, and the National Defence College in New Delhi, positioning him to lead the premier tri-services training institution effectively.
