A New Generation of Valour: 374 Agniveers Sworn Into Garhwal Rifles at Lansdowne

LANSDOWNE, June 20, 2026 — Marking a major milestone in their military journeys, 374 freshly trained Agniveers of Batch-08 were formally inducted into the Indian Army today during a spectacular Passing Out Parade at the historic Garhwal Rifles Regimental Centre (GRRC). Reviewed by Brig Vinod Singh Negi, VSM, Commandant of the GRRC, the pristine parade grounds echoed with rhythmic marching and military fanfares as the immaculate ranks of young soldiers were inspected.

The emotional high point of the ceremony arrived when the recruits collectively took a sacred oath of allegiance, vowing to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty, honour, and security at all costs. This milestone represents the culmination of months of grueling physical conditioning, advanced weaponry handling, and tactical survival training that successfully transformed these civilians into highly disciplined, combat-ready infantrymen.

As they don the iconic olive greens and prepare to deploy to diverse, challenging terrains, these young warriors inherit the legendary legacy of the Garhwal Rifles, stepping forward onto the frontlines guided by their fierce war cry, “Yudhaya Krit Nishchaya” — Determined for Battle.
