Samba Police Arrest Man with 7 Grams of Heroin in Drug Bust

SAMBA, July 09, 2026: Continuing its aggressive crackdown on drug trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, the Samba Police arrested a drug peddler and seized approximately 7 grams of a heroin-like substance, commonly known as “Chitta,” in the Bari Brahmana area.

The arrest was made by a patrolling team from the Bari Brahmana Police Station near Kartholi. Officers intercepted a motorcycle with registration number JK21L-8013 for a routine inspection, which led to the discovery of the contraband hidden in the rider’s possession. The suspect has been identified as Jeevan Sharma, son of Balwant Sharma, a resident of Ward Number 02, Bari Brahmana, Samba district. Law enforcement authorities have taken Sharma into custody and officially seized both the illegal drugs and the motorcycle as part of the ongoing investigation.
