First CISF Airport Sector ASTI In-Charges Conference Focuses on Standardizing Aviation Security Training

NEW DELHI July 09 — The first-ever Conference of Aviation Security Training Institute (ASTI) In-Charges was held at ASTI Delhi to deliberate on strategic advancements in airport security protocols and training methodologies. The high-level meeting was chaired by Binita Thakur, IPS, Additional Director General/Airport Sector (ADG/APS).

The conference saw the participation of key leadership figures, including Senthil Avoodai Krishna Raj S, IPS, Inspector General/Airport Sector-I (IG/APS-I); Babu Ram, IPS, Deputy Inspector General/Chief Airport Security Officer (DIG/CASO), Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport; and several senior officers from the Airport Security Group (ASG) Delhi and APS Headquarters.

ASTI In-Charges representing critical hubs and training centers across India—including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Amritsar, Guwahati, Bengaluru, the 10th Reserve Battalion, the National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) Hyderabad, and the Regional Training Centre (RTC) Thakkolam—attended the event. The delegates shared operational best practices, exchanged innovative insights, and discussed robust strategies to enhance and fortify aviation security training throughout the CISF Airport Sector.

During her address to the participants, ADG/APS Binita Thakur emphasized the critical need to standardize aviation security training and integrate modern, innovative instructional methodologies. She stressed the importance of fostering a culture of continuous learning and proactive knowledge-sharing, reiterating the Central Industrial Security Force’s (CISF) dedication to establishing a uniform, agile, and future-ready aviation security framework.
