Indian Air Force opens seventh Marshal Arjan Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament in Bengaluru
JALAHALLI, June 23, 2026 :- The Air Force Sports Control Board launched the seventh edition of the Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament 2026 at Air Force Station Jalahalli today, marking the 107th birth anniversary of the legendary military officer.
Scheduled to run from June 23 to July 3, the prestigious tournament features 16 elite teams from across the nation competing for the title. Air Marshal S Sivakumar, Air Officer-in-Charge Administration, attended the opening ceremony as the chief guest and officially declared the tournament open amidst a series of vibrant cultural programs.
The inaugural match of the tournament saw the Indian Air Force team secure a 2-0 victory against the Indian Army Southern Command Bengaluru team. Agniveer Vinayak Santosh Hande was named player of the match for his standout performance, receiving a cash prize of 25,000 rupees from the chief guest.
While addressing the gathering, Air Marshal S Sivakumar emphasized that the competition provides a premier platform for top-tier hockey talent and promised seamless execution of the event, describing the tournament as a fitting tribute to the immense national contributions of the Air Force legend.
