Sanjay Seth chairs DITCC meeting to push for indigenous defense tech and advanced chip manufacturing

NEW DELHI, June 23, 2026Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth chaired the 15th meeting of the Defence Information Technology Consultative Committee in New Delhi on June 23, 2026. Conducted by the Headquarter Integrated Defence Staff, the session focused heavily on achieving self-reliance in information technology and accelerating the adoption of cutting-edge technological enablers.

Subject matter experts deliberated on crucial policy decisions regarding the use of disruptive technologies in modern warfare, highlighting the changing paradigm of global defense requirements.

The committee discussed several critical issues, including the indigenisation of advanced chip manufacturing, the development of a sovereign operating system and database, and the strategic placement of data centers tailored for defense needs. Clearances were granted to projects designed to bring far-reaching benefits to both the armed forces and national technological growth, aligning with the government vision of a developed India.

The meeting saw active participation from officials representing the Headquarter Integrated Defence Staff, Army, Navy, Air Force, Defence Research and Development Organisation, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, as well as prominent members from academia and the industry.
