Kathua police arrest two drug smugglers and seize heroin in Rajbagh
KATHUA, June 22 — Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested two drug smugglers and recovered approximately seven grams of a heroin-like substance in the Khanpur area of Rajbagh on Sunday.
The operation, conducted under the supervision of SSP Kathua Mohita Sharma, also resulted in the seizure of an unregistered four-wheel auto used by the suspects.Acting on reliable intelligence, a police team led by IC PP Marheen established a special checkpoint at Khanpur, where they intercepted the suspicious vehicle.
The recovered narcotics were found in the possession of Rana Singh and Arun Kangla, both residents of Janyal, Pathankot, who were immediately taken into custody.
A case has been registered under FIR Number 144/2026 at the Rajbagh police station, and authorities have urged the public to continue sharing information regarding illicit drug activities to support the ongoing anti-narcotics campaign.
