CRPF organizes civic action program in Chenani Jammu and Kashmir

UDHAMPUR, JUNE 22, 2026 :- The 137 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force organized a human resource program under its civic action initiative today. The events were held at PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya and the Government Higher Secondary School in Chenani, Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir.

The initiative highlights the force’s commitment to youth welfare and community building in the region beyond its regular security duties.The event was attended by several Central Reserve Police Force officials, including 137 Battalion Commandant Manoj Kumar Sicon, Deputy Commandant Raju Lal Meena, and Assistant Commandant Ashis Kumar.

Local administration and police officers, including Chenani Tehsildar Pankaj Singh and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sukhveer Singh, were also present. School leaders, including principals Rajni Obrai and Rashi Gupta, along with lecturers Ghara Ram and Saroj Jimbal, and Physical Education Master Amit Sharma, joined the school staff, students, local residents, and media personnel for the occasion.During the program, the Central Reserve Police Force distributed essential educational and sports items to one hundred participating students and teachers.

The distribution included 100 T-shirts, 100 shorts, and 100 pairs of shoes, along with educational supplies consisting of 100 notebooks, 100 pens, 100 pencils, 100 sharpeners, and 100 erasers to support the youth in their academic and physical activities.

Central Reserve Police Force officials emphasized the importance of building resilient communities, noting that similar recent drives in Udhampur have successfully reached thousands of people.

Local residents expressed appreciation for the efforts of the 137 Battalion and requested that more events of this nature be organized in the future. The battalion has consistently held similar welfare programs throughout 2024, 2025, and 2026.
