DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma conducts comprehensive security review across Reasi district

REASI, June 20, 2026 — Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Udhampur-Reasi Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, conducted a series of security review and coordination meetings across multiple locations in Reasi district today to assess operational preparedness and strengthen synergy among security agencies.

The comprehensive tour included detailed assessments at Kalidhar Mandir, Bhambla, the Shiv Khori Shrine, and Ransoo. During these sessions, the regional police chief evaluated on-ground arrangements for upcoming local yatras, route security, and ongoing infrastructure deployments such as the new helipad, sentry posts, and security fencing designed to ensure the safety of visiting pilgrims.

Throughout the tour, the senior officer held coordination discussions with local police, the Central Reserve Police Force, and other Central Armed Police Forces to streamline joint security mechanisms. Interacting closely with local residents and civil society members, he emphasized that public participation and the real-time sharing of information regarding suspicious activities are crucial to maintaining peace and regional stability.

Additionally, he leveraged these community gatherings to raise public awareness against substance abuse under the 100 Days Nasha Mukht Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, urging local youth to reject drugs and actively participate in sports and athletics.
