IGP Kashmir reviews security and logistics for Amarnath Yatra 2026

SRINAGAR, June 19, 2026 — In preparation for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026, Inspector General of Police Kashmir V.K Birdi briefed Zonal Officers and Sector Officers today to review coordination and operational preparedness along the pilgrimage route.

The high-level briefing was attended by key security officials, including the DIG CKR Srinagar, DIG SKR Anantnag, DIG Armed Kashmir, SSP PCR Kashmir, SO to IGP Kashmir, and all Zonal and Sector Officers deputed for the annual pilgrimage.

During the session, V.K Birdi emphasized the importance of maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, vigilance, and public service to ensure the safe, smooth, and successful conduct of the Yatra.

Officers were directed to remain fully prepared to meet all security and logistical challenges and to ensure the effective implementation of the established security grid. The IGP further instructed Zonal Officers to conduct regular briefings for the Sector Officers and jawans under their command to ensure all deployed personnel are aligned on operational safety protocols.
