Indian Army all-women sailboat IASV Triveni meets naval frigate INS Tarkash in Indian Ocean

MUMBAI, June 19, 2026 — The Indian Army sailboat IASV Triveni, crewed by six women officers drawn from the three branches of the Indian defense forces, successfully executed a rendezvous at sea with the Indian Navy guided-missile frigate INS Tarkash.

The meeting occurred in the southwest Indian Ocean, where INS Tarkash is currently executing an operational deployment. Currently transiting from Cape Town to Mumbai, IASV Triveni is navigating the final leg of its historic global circumnavigation expedition, drawing warm wishes from the Indian Navy for fair winds and following seas as the intrepid crew completes the journey home.
