Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena plants Mongolian larch tree at Lok Niwas in Ladakh

LEH, June 15, 2026 :- Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena planted a Mongolian larch tree sapling at Lok Niwas today to serve as a living symbol of the shared spiritual and cultural heritage between India and Mongolia.

The sapling was presented to the Lieutenant Governor by the Indian Ambassador to Mongolia, Atul Malhari Gotsurve, as a token of goodwill on behalf of the people of Mongolia following the conclusion of the sacred exposition of the relics of Lord Buddha’s disciples on June 10.

Named the India-Mongolia Friendship Tree, the sapling embodies the deep-rooted cultural, spiritual, and diplomatic ties between the two nations. The Lieutenant Governor expressed hope that as the tree grows, it will stand as a testament to shared values of peace, harmony, and brotherhood, inspiring future generations to cherish and strengthen the bilateral friendship.
