Indian Army mountain terrain bicycle expedition flagged off from Rezang La to Drass for Kargil Vijay Diwas

LEH, June 11, 2026:- The Forever in Operations Division Mountain Terrain Bicycle Expedition 2026 was flagged off from the Rezang La War Memorial as part of the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas commemorations. The expedition is scheduled to culminate at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass to pay tribute to the valiant soldiers of the Kargil War.

Over the course of the journey, the cyclists will cover a demanding distance of 550 kilometers across the rugged terrain of Ladakh, connecting two iconic war memorials that symbolize the sacrifice and valor of the Indian armed forces.

The participants will traverse several high-altitude passes ranging from 9,000 to 18,000 feet, showcasing extreme physical endurance, determination, and resilience under challenging environmental conditions.

Organised under the Fire and Fury Corps, this cycling initiative serves as a ride of remembrance while promoting community outreach through Operation Sadbhavana across the remote Himalayan region.
