Indian Coast Guard hosts maritime search and rescue workshop in Visakhapatnam for Andhra Pradesh coast
VISAKHAPATNAM, June 11, 2026:- The Indian Coast Guard District Headquarters (AP) conducted a one-day Maritime Search and Rescue workshop in Visakhapatnam to advance maritime safety and rescue readiness along the Andhra Pradesh coast.
The event brought together over 60 stakeholders from various Central and State agencies to discuss and strengthen emergency response strategies. The workshop focused extensively on improving search and rescue coordination, enhancing operational preparedness, fostering inter-agency collaboration, and implementing technology-driven response capabilities.
The program featured live demonstrations of advanced life-saving and communication equipment to highlight the vital role that innovation plays in ensuring safety of life at sea and improving emergency response effectiveness.
This initiative reinforced a shared commitment among all participating agencies to establish a robust maritime safety framework.
