Central Industrial Security Force Chief Reviews Airport Counter Drone Prep and Security Strategies

CHANDIGARH, May 31, 2026 — Central Industrial Security Force Director General Praveer Ranjan chaired a major zonal operational review meeting in Chandigarh to evaluate security measures across North Zone airports and Delhi International Airport.

The high-level session brought together top leadership from the airport security sector, including Additional Director General Binita Thakur, Inspector General Senthil Avoodai Krishna Raj S, Deputy Inspector General Babu Ram from the Delhi Airport security command, and Deputy Inspector General Sudhir Kumar.

The comprehensive assessment prioritized emerging aerial threats by focusing heavily on counter-drone capabilities and hostile unmanned aerial vehicle detection systems. Officials evaluated overall perimeter security infrastructure and the deployment of advanced technology, including full-body scanners, automated closed-circuit television analytics, and the expansion of the digital travel platform Digi Yatra.

The security strategy session also mapped out enhancements for quick reaction teams through specialized tactical training and the proactive deployment of women personnel. To ensure a robust defense framework, attendees analyzed recent multi-agency mock drills and emergency response protocols designed to handle critical incidents at high-traffic transit hubs.

Concluding the briefing, Director General Ranjan emphasized that tackling modern security challenges requires a shift toward technology-driven security operations. He stressed that safeguarding critical national aviation infrastructure depends heavily on seamless inter-agency coordination, continuous force training, and a strong commitment to personnel welfare.
