Samba Mega Block Diwas: Deputy Commissioner Ayushi Sudan Resolves Public Grievances, Distributes ₹21.46 Lakh Subsidy to Farmers
SAMBA, MAY 29,2026— In a major push toward rural development and public welfare, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Ayushi Sudan chaired a Mega Block Diwas-cum-Public Outreach Programme at Panchayat Nonath in Sub-Division Ghagwal to directly address local grievances and developmental concerns. During the intensive interactive session, the Deputy Commissioner listened to various issues raised by residents regarding water scarcity, power supply, road connectivity, and basic amenities. Responding to the immediate needs of the community, particularly given the prevailing summer season, several grievances were resolved on the spot. Sudan directed the concerned departments and executing agencies to fast-track action plans for pending water and electricity issues, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to timely and efficient governance.
Demonstrating the government’s focus on rural economic upliftment, the event featured the distribution of ₹21.46 lakh worth of subsidy assistance to progressive local farmers and groups. Under the Integrated Dairy Development Programme (HADP), the Deputy Commissioner handed over the keys to a Milk ATM and a vehicle to Jagdish Lal, a resident of Sanoora, a project backed by a ₹9.46 lakh subsidy from the Animal Husbandry Department. Additionally, two 500-litre capacity Bulk Milk Coolers (BMCs) paired with 5 KVA generator sets were inaugurated under the JKCIP Scheme. Funded with a 100 percent subsidy totaling ₹12 lakh, these units were awarded to the Mata Vaishno and Om Namah Shivay Self Help Groups (SHGs) of Nonath.
Commending the Animal Husbandry Department’s role in boosting dairy entrepreneurship, Sudan urged local youth and SHGs to actively tap into welfare initiatives like HADP, Mission YUVA, and financial inclusion schemes for sustainable livelihood generation. Further strengthening community partnership, the Deputy Commissioner also called upon Mahila Nigrani Samitis and Youth Clubs to proactively raise awareness against drug abuse, urging a united front with the District Administration and Police to eradicate the drug menace. The mega outreach programme saw wide participation from key district officials, including the SDM Ghagwal, CPO Samba, CMO Samba, CEO Samba, various Executive Engineers, public representatives, and a large gathering of local residents.
