Comprehensive Three-Day Census 2027 Training Workshop Commences in Leh
LEH, May 5, 2026: A specialized three-day training intensive for Field Trainers and Technical Assistants officially kicked off today at the DC Office Conference Hall in Leh, marking the commencement of Phase-I preparations for Census 2027. Focused on House Listing and Housing Census (HLO), the program is being conducted under the direct supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Leh in a collaborative effort between the Office of the Principal Census Officer and the Directorate of Census Operations for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
The inaugural session featured detailed technical presentations by Assistant Director and Nodal Officer for UT Ladakh, Jatinder Kumar, and Master Trainer Ghulam Mohammad, who provided comprehensive guidance on building identification, household categorization, and the precise counting of census houses. By emphasizing updated digital methodologies and rigorous field procedures, the workshop aims to equip district personnel with the essential skills required to ensure high-quality, accurate data collection. This critical training phase is scheduled to continue through May 7, 2026, setting the foundation for a streamlined and efficient census operation across the Leh district.
