Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026 Schedule Announced: 57-Day Pilgrimage to Start July 3
JAMMU | APRIL 12, 2026 :- The annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is officially scheduled to commence on July 3, 2026, and will conclude on August 28, 2026, coinciding with the festival of Raksha Bandhan.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced that this year’s pilgrimage will span 57 days, providing devotees ample opportunity to visit the holy cave shrine in the Himalayas.
The spiritual journey will be preceded by the Pratham Puja on June 29, 2026, marking the auspicious occasion of Jyeshtha Purnima, where blessings are sought for a safe and successful yatra.
To ensure a seamless experience for the lakhs of pilgrims expected to participate, advance registration will open on April 15, 2026. Devotees can secure their spots through both online platforms and offline channels, with 554 designated bank branches—including Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India, and Yes Bank—authorized to process applications across the country.
This early registration window is part of a broader effort by the administration to manage the high influx of visitors and streamline logistics for the revered trek.Given the high-altitude terrain and unpredictable weather of the region, the administration has placed a heavy emphasis on safety and preparedness.
Authorities are coordinating extensive arrangements for security, healthcare, transportation, and accommodation. Prospective pilgrims are strongly urged to adhere to official guidelines, undergo mandatory health screenings, and follow all safety advisories to ensure their journey to the ice Shivling is both spiritually fulfilling and physically secure.
