Young military officers visit MCEME Secunderabad to study advanced technology and defense innovation

SECUNDERABAD, May 21, 2026 — A cohort of 24 young officers undergoing regimental orientation training at the 1 EME Centre completed a two-day educational visit to the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering on Tuesday.

The visit aimed to prepare the future techno-warriors for upcoming leadership roles by exposing them to the latest advancements in defense technology and engineering support systems.

During the visit, the officers toured various faculties within the institution and received comprehensive briefings on advanced training methodologies and key indigenization initiatives.

They explored state-of-the-art training laboratories dedicated to cutting-edge fields such as drones, robotics, artificial intelligence, and additive manufacturing. The session also highlighted modern infrastructure developments designed to support, innovate, and sustain vital weapon systems, aviation assets, electronic warfare equipment, and communication technologies.

In addition to the technological briefings, the young officers visited the EME Archives and Museum to gain a deeper understanding of the rich heritage and historical evolution of the Corps.

The experience was designed to inspire the officers as they prepare to assume operational responsibilities, ensuring they are equipped to carry forward a legacy of innovation, precision, and dedication to national service.
