DODA, July 25 — Two women lost their lives and five other people sustained injuries when a Tempo Traveller met with an accident at Jathali Mohalla on the Doda–Mohalla road on Saturday afternoon. The vehicle was carrying local passengers when the incident occurred around 2:30 pm, prompting an immediate response from emergency responders and nearby residents.
Hospital authorities at Associated Hospital GMC Doda declared the two deceased women brought dead upon arrival. They have been identified as Asha Devi, aged 30, wife of Ajay Sharma, and Minakshi Devi, aged 29, wife of Shiv Kumar, both residing in Jathali.The five injured individuals include three-year-old Shavinesh, son of Shiv Kumar; 33-year-old Ajay Sharma, son of Bharat Bhushan; two-year-old Trashan, son of Ajay Sharma; 35-year-old Nasib Singh, son of Rajinder Singh from Dongroo; and 35-year-old Shiv Kumar, son of Bharat Bhushan.
Police and local residents carried out a swift rescue operation to move all victims to the hospital shortly after the crash.Four of the injured victims are currently receiving medical care at Associated Hospital GMC Doda.
Due to the severity of his injuries, Shiv Kumar was referred to GMC Jammu for specialized treatment. Law enforcement officials have registered a case and launched an official investigation to determine what caused the vehicle to crash.
