Srinagar police attach drug peddler property worth crores
SRINAGAR, May 19 — Srinagar police attached a residential house and an adjoining plot of land measuring seven marlas as part of an intensified crackdown on drug trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan.
The attached property, valued at approximately 1.50 crore, belongs to a notorious drug peddler identified as Owais Amin Denthoo, a resident of Parimpora.The enforcement action was executed under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
It is linked to an ongoing investigation under FIR number 32/2026, which was registered at the Parimpora police station under multiple sections of the NDPS Act.During the investigation, authorities established that the property had been acquired using illicit funds generated from drug trafficking activities. Officials noted that the attachment is part of a sustained effort to dismantle the local narcotics ecosystem and curb drug abuse across the region.
Law enforcement reaffirmed its commitment to establishing a drug-free Srinagar and urged the public to assist by sharing information about local drug peddling.
