SRINAGAR, JULY 23 — Demonstrating the rich composite cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo visited the iconic Shrine of Hazrat Sultan-ul-Arfeen Sheikh Hamza Makhdoom (R.A.) and the revered Sharika Devi Temple at Hari Parbat to oversee religious event arrangements and participate in local celebrations. During his visit to the Makhdoom Sahib Shrine, DC Labroo reviewed preparations for the upcoming annual Urs alongside senior civil, police, and traffic officials. He issued strict instructions to line departments to ensure round-the-clock power and water supply, seamless traffic and parking management, functional street lights, continuous sanitation, and dedicated medical first-aid camps to facilitate a smooth, hassle-free experience for the thousands of devotees expected to attend.
Continuing his tour on the auspicious occasion of Sharika Jayanti, the Deputy Commissioner paid obeisance at the Hari Parbat temple, joining the Kashmiri Pandit community and devotees in celebrating the festival marked by spiritual fervor and traditional rituals. Interacting with temple management and community members, DC Labroo extended his warm greetings and commended the joint efforts of district authorities, volunteers, and local representatives for organizing the event in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere. Emphasizing the deep spiritual and cultural significance of both occasions, the administration reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining tight inter-departmental coordination to ensure safety, convenience, and seamless facilities across all religious venues in the city.
