SKPA Udhampur Concludes Key Training Courses on Traffic Accident Investigation and GOs Refresher

UDHAMPUR, MAY 23, 2026 — The Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) successfully hosted the valedictory function for two major training programs: the GOs Refresher Course and the Investigation of Traffic Accident Cases. Shiv Kumar Sharma, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Udhampur-Reasi Range attended as the chief guest and emphasized the crucial role of continuous professional development and capacity building in modern policing. Sharma noted that refresher and specialized investigation courses are vital for enhancing operational competence, updating officers with modern techniques, and strengthening professional skills to effectively meet emerging law enforcement challenges.

Addressing the supervisory-level officers in the GOs Refresher Course, the Deputy Inspector General of Police highlighted the necessity of staying updated with evolving legal frameworks, leadership practices, technological advancements, and policing methodologies to ensure effective service delivery in field assignments. Turning to the traffic accident investigation course, Sharma stressed the importance of adopting a scientific, technology-driven approach. He underlined that proper scene management, systematic evidence collection, forensic support, and analytical investigation are critical to ensuring justice and accountability on the roads.

The valediction was also attended by Rajesh Sharma, Deputy Director, and Benam Tosh, Deputy Director, alongside other SKPA faculty members. The chief guest commended the active participation and dedication of the trainees, urging them to share their newly acquired knowledge with fellow officers in their respective units. He also praised the SKPA faculty for organizing high-impact capacity-building programs that strengthen policing standards and public service delivery. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and the distribution of certificates to the participants. The 15-day GOs Refresher Course was coordinated by Rakesh Sambyal and assisted by Naseer Mehmood Naik, while the course on Investigation of Traffic Accident Cases was led by Vikrant Kotwal with assistance from Tejinder Chopra.
