JAMMU, JULY 13, 2026 — The annual Amarnath Yatra is witnessing an unprecedented influx of devotees this year, with the total number of pilgrims passing the 2.52 lakh mark within the first eleven days of the pilgrimage. Since the tracks officially opened on July 3, a massive surge of over 2,52,000 devotees has already visited the holy cave shrine located at an altitude of 3,880 meters in the south Kashmir Himalayas to pay obeisance at the ice stalagmite structure.
The ongoing 57-day pilgrimage continues to run smoothly under a tightly coordinated multi-layer security matrix managed by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), local police, and allied security agencies. Due to the heavy footfall and high enthusiasm among worshippers from across the country, the local administration has maintained strict round-the-clock monitoring and digital surveillance across both transit routes to regulate crowd density. The annual pilgrimage is scheduled to progress through the remaining weeks before drawing to its official conclusion on August 28, coinciding with the festival of Raksha Bandhan.
