RAMBAN, July 22, 2026: Amid persistent heavy rainfall across the region, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Ramban, Varunjeet Singh Charak, today visited the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) transit camp at Lamber, Banihal, to inspect ground-level arrangements and ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of stranded pilgrims. Operating under the direct guidance of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan, ADC Charak—accompanied by SDM Banihal Mohammad Naseeb Bajraan—conducted a comprehensive review of key infrastructure at the facility.
The inspection covered accommodation, sanitation standards, uninterrupted power and drinking water supplies, emergency healthcare services, and security protocols. Emphasizing proactive disaster management, the ADC instructed all key departments to maintain high alertness, keep standby machinery and manpower ready for weather contingencies, and guarantee swift response times. During his visit, Charak interacted directly with stranded devotees to assess their immediate needs, assuring them of the district administration’s full commitment to a safe pilgrimage while urging all travelers to strictly adhere to official weather advisories.
