SDRF team hosts disaster awareness session at Pul Doda girls school
DODA, MAY 23 — The State Disaster Response Force team in Doda organized a disaster management awareness session at Government Girls High School Pul Doda today to educate students and staff on emergency readiness.
Conducted under the supervision of Headmaster Indu Bhushan, the initiative focused on disaster preparedness, emergency response techniques, and crucial safety measures for both natural and man-made crises. Bhushan praised the program, emphasizing how vital public safety awareness is for young students.
During the session, the rescue team detailed essential protocols for first aid, fire-fighting methods, and rescue operations during common emergencies like earthquakes, landslides, floods, and fires. Instructors stressed that maintaining presence of mind, acting quickly, and coordinating with the community are the most effective ways to minimize risks and save lives when a disaster strikes.
The program also featured hands-on training, where trainers used specialized equipment to demonstrate cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other life-saving methods. Students actively participated in these drills and interacted with the personnel to better understand emergency handling procedures.
The school administration thanked the disaster response team for the informative session, noting that it successfully built confidence and a sense of emergency preparedness among the learners.
