Saurabh Vijay takes charge as Chief Executive Officer of UIDAI

NEW DELHI, May 18, 2026Saurabh Vijay assumed charge as the Chief Executive Officer of the Unique Identification Authority of India on Monday.

He is an Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1998 batch of the Maharashtra cadre.A civil engineer by training from IIT-Delhi, he has held several key positions in both the Government of Maharashtra and the Government of India.

Prior to joining the Unique Identification Authority of India, he served as the Principal Secretary of Expenditure in the Finance Department for the Government of Maharashtra.

His extensive earlier assignments within the cadre include serving as the Principal Secretary of Planning and Development Commissioner of Maharashtra, Principal Secretary of Tourism, Secretary of Medical Education, and Secretary of Higher and Technical Education, among other prominent administrative roles.
