Reasi Police Seize Drug Peddler Vehicle in Major Crackdown
REASI, April 24: In a significant move under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, the Reasi Police have attached a vehicle belonging to a notorious drug peddler, Vishal Sharma, also known as Murli.
The operation, conducted under the leadership of SSP Mukund Tibrewal, IPS, targeted property believed to be illegally acquired through the proceeds of narcotics trafficking. The vehicle, registered as JK21A-0829, was seized following an order from the Court of Sub Judge Katra under Section 107(5) of the BNSS.
The accused, a resident of Mandian Mohalla Reasi currently staying in Parthal Katra, has a documented history of criminal activity and is linked to multiple cases under the NDPS Act, including FIRs filed in 2025 and 2026 at the Katra Police Station.
This latest enforcement action is part of a broader strategy to dismantle the financial networks of habitual offenders and drug syndicates in the region.
By stripping peddlers of their assets, authorities aim to provide a strong deterrent against the drug trade.
The seizure was executed by a dedicated team including IC PP Kakryal PSI Akhilesh Khajuria and SHO Katra Inspector Ranjeet Singh Rao, with oversight from SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey and SP Katra Sh. Kameshwar Puri.
Reasi Police have reaffirmed their zero-tolerance stance toward drug-related crimes and continue to urge the community to cooperate with law enforcement.
