Rajouri encounter breaks out as security forces launch major anti terror operation
RAJOURI MAY 23,2026 :- Security forces established contact with terrorists at around 11:30 AM today during an intelligence-based joint operation in the general area of Gambhir Muglan, located in the Rajouri district.
The operation was launched collaboratively by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force.
On detecting the presence of the terrorists, the joint troops responded swiftly with calibrated action, which triggered an immediate firefight between the forces and the holed-up terrorists.
An effective cordon has been established around the location by the joint security forces to prevent any escape attempts.
The entire area has been sealed off, and additional reinforcements have been deployed to strengthen the dragnet.
Intense operations remain underway in the sector as security forces continue to neutralize the threat.
