Punjab Police Seize 28 Kg Heroin and Arrest Four in Ferozepur Drug Bust
FEROZEPUR, May 24 — Punjab Police have made a major breakthrough in their ongoing crackdown on narcotics by busting a cross-border drug smuggling network in Ferozepur. Operation by the Counter Intelligence wing in the Guruharsahai area led to the arrest of four suspects.
During the operation, police teams seized a massive consignment of 28.12 kilograms of heroin and recovered 9.5 lakh rupees in cash, suspected to be drug money.Initial investigations indicate that the arrested individuals were operating on instructions from foreign-based smugglers and handlers.
These international operatives allegedly tasked the local module with retrieving large shipments of narcotics at the border and distributing them further into various parts of Indian territory.The police are currently conducting further investigations to track down both forward and backward links of this operation.
Officials state that the primary goal is to completely dismantle the entire cross-border smuggling infrastructure. Security agencies expect to make more arrests and additional recoveries in the coming days as the investigation unfolds.
