Project Deepak marks 66th Raising Day celebrating strategic connectivity in Western Himalayas

SHIMLA, MAY 4: Project Deepak of the Border Roads Organization celebrated its 66th Raising Day today, marking over six decades of dedication to infrastructure development and excellence across the Western Himalayas.

The project has established a distinguished legacy by constructing and maintaining vital lifelines, ranging from the historic Hindustan-Tibet Road to the strategically essential Manali-Leh axis.

These efforts have proved instrumental in overcoming some of the most challenging terrains in the country to ensure the nation remains connected in high-altitude regions.

Managing a strategic road network of over 1,100 kilometers, Project Deepak continues to play a critical role in enhancing India’s operational preparedness and promoting socio-economic growth in remote areas.

Beyond its engineering achievements, the project remains a cornerstone for humanitarian assistance, providing timely support to local communities during environmental challenges.

As it enters its 67th year, the project reaffirmed its commitment to the core values of courage and service while sustaining the essential infrastructure that supports both national security and regional development.
