Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence reviews border infrastructure projects in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh

JAMMU, May 25, 2026 :- The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence, under the chairmanship of Member of Parliament Radha Mohan Singh, undertook a two-day study visit to Jammu to review regional infrastructure development.

The delegation, which comprised members of parliament along with officials from the Lok Sabha Secretariat and the Ministry of Defence, was received by Harendra Kumar, Additional Director General of the Border Roads Organisation.

Chief Engineers from major regional infrastructure operations, including Project Sampark, Beacon, Vijayak, Himank, and Yojak, also participated in the high-level interaction.During the study visit, the parliamentary delegation received comprehensive briefings on the key infrastructure projects completed and currently underway by the Border Roads Organisation across Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

The members of the committee expressed appreciation for the progress and dedicated efforts made toward enhancing strategic connectivity and strengthening critical border infrastructure in some of the most challenging terrains of the country.

The visit concluded with an interactive session highlighting the ongoing commitment of the engineering forces toward nation-building and maintaining operational readiness along the borders.
