One dead as truck plunges into deep gorge at Nachlana Banihal

BANIHAL, May 17, 2026 :- One person lost his life after a truck met with a fatal accident and plunged into a deep gorge in the Nachlana area of Banihal on Sunday.

According to official reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and fall into the precipice, which resulted in the immediate death of one individual on the spot.

Soon after the tragic incident, local rescue teams and police personnel rushed to the site to launch a swift rescue and retrieval operation.

The identity of the deceased could not be immediately ascertained when reports last came in from the area.

Meanwhile, the police have taken formal cognizance of the accident, and further investigations are underway as additional details are awaited.
