NIA files espionage investigation report against five juveniles in Pakistan linked Ghaziabad terror case

NEW DELHI, MAY 18 — The National Investigation Agency filed its comprehensive investigation report on Monday against five juveniles in conflict with law in connection with a Pakistan-linked terror conspiracy designed to spy on sensitive domestic locations and endanger national security.

The detailed report was submitted before the Juvenile Justice Board in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, the Official Secrets Act, and the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.

A total of 21 accused individuals have been arrested so far in this espionage case, which was originally registered by local police in March 2026 following the discovery of solar-powered cameras installed at sensitive railway stations to provide live access to handlers in Pakistan.

Following its takeover of the case, the anti-terror agency discovered that the five juveniles had actively conspired with co-accused to assist suspected Pakistani terrorists in capturing photographs, videos, and precise GPS coordinates of critical installations.

The investigation revealed that the minors had illegally trespassed into prohibited and highly sensitive areas of vital importance. They provided direct operational support by setting up the spy cameras and transmitting geo-tagged multimedia files to foreign handlers.

Additionally, the juveniles facilitated the procurement and activation of Indian SIM cards for the suspected terrorists to use in executing operations on Indian soil. Investigation into the remaining arrested individuals and other suspects under case number RC-01/2026/NIA/LKW is still underway.
