UDHAMPUR, JULY 22: Additional Chief Secretary for the Public Works Department Anil Kumar Singh visited landslide-hit sections of National Highway-44 between Udhampur and Chenani to check repair progress and assess damages.
Accompanied by Udhampur Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa and officials from civil administration, traffic police, and the National Highways Authority of India, the senior official reviewed ongoing clearance operations.During the site visit, the deputy commissioner updated the additional chief secretary on the extent of the damage caused by recent landslides and outlined the steps being taken to restore normal traffic flow.
The official inspected the Toldi Bridge project and urged National Highways Authority of India authorities to accelerate debris clearance to ease public commuting.
Emphasizing the need for better coordination, the public works chief instructed the traffic police and highway authorities to work closely together to ensure smooth movement along National Highway-44. Agencies were directed to clear all blocked areas quickly while keeping commuter safety a top priority.
