National Cadet Corps celebrates tenth anniversary of historic all girls Mt Everest summit

NEW DELHI, May 22, 2026 — The National Cadet Corps fraternity, led by Director General National Cadet Corps Lieutenant General Virendra Vats, felicitated the members of the historic all-girls expedition team at the headquarters to mark the tenth anniversary of their successful scaling of Mount Everest.

During the commemorative event, team leader Colonel Gaurav Karki presented the Director General with a copy of his memoir, titled To Everest With Girls Wanderings in The Himalayas, which documents the journey.

The Director General presented mementoes to the team members in recognition of their landmark milestone, which continues to serve as an inspiration for current cadets.

Highlighting the vital role of adventure sports in developing character, leadership qualities, and teamwork, the Director General urged cadets across the nation to remain relentless in the pursuit of their goals and to continue exploring new horizons.
