SIDDIPET, May 18, 2026 :- The Narcotics Control Bureau successfully dismantled an illegal Alprazolam manufacturing and trafficking network operating out of Telangana, resulting in the arrest of three drug traffickers, including the main supplier.
During the operation, authorities intercepted a vehicle and seized 39.470 kilograms of Alprazolam alongside 85.36 lakh rupees in cash, which officials suspect to be proceeds from the illicit sale of the psychotropic substance.
Subsequent investigations revealed that the seized Alprazolam was being clandestinely manufactured at an illegal laboratory located in Prashant Nagar, Hyderabad.
The arrested supplier, who operated the facility, holds a Master of Science degree in Chemistry and utilized this background to produce the drug.
Following the crackdown, the Narcotics Control Bureau has urged citizens to actively report any narcotics-related information through the MANAS National Narcotics Helpline at the toll-free number 1933, emphasizing that the identities of all informers are kept strictly confidential.
