Narcotics Control Bureau arrests major Myanmar based drug kingpin in Delhi
NEW DELHI May 18,2026 — The Narcotics Control Bureau has arrested Myanmar-based drug kingpin Thancintuang, also known as Chintuang, from Delhi following a sustained intelligence-led operation.
The suspect is identified as a key transnational trafficker operating across the India-Myanmar border and is linked to multiple major methamphetamine and heroin smuggling cases.
This arrest marks the second high-profile apprehension of a Myanmar-based drug kingpin by the federal anti-narcotics agency in 2026, following the arrest of Lalhmingsanga from Champhai, Mizoram, in March.
The successful operation was carried out in pursuance of the network-centric enforcement approach emphasized by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, which aims to completely dismantle international drug syndicates and their cross-border financial ecosystems.
