Kulgam police arrest terror associate with hand grenades and posters in South Kashmir
KULGAM, May 21, 2026 — Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested an overground worker affiliated with terror networks during an operational deployment in Mohammadpora village of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district today.
A senior police official confirmed that the individual was intercepted near his native village during a targeted security operation. Authorities identified the detained suspect as Adil Hussain Lone, son of Mohammad Sadiq Lone, who resides locally in the Mohammadpora area.During a routine search of the suspect, security personnel recovered two live hand grenades and multiple incriminating posters from his possession.
Following the recovery, law enforcement agencies immediately filed a First Information Report against the accused under relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and the Explosive Substances Act.
The suspect remains in custody as security forces conduct further investigations to uncover deeper operational links and potential terror conspiracies in the region.
