KATHUA, JULY 21 — Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma visited vulnerable locations across Kathua district today, including Logate Morh, Ujh Barrage, Tarnah Nallah, Magar Khad, and Chadwal, to assess the situation following incessant rains and evaluate the administration’s preparedness.
Accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Mahima Madan and key officials, the head of the district administration inspected rising water levels and examined precautionary measures implemented at critical sites.During the inspection, directions were issued to officials to maintain continuous vigil over rivers, streams, and other water bodies.
Field agencies have been tasked with broadcasting timely public announcements in high-risk zones, while ensuring evacuation teams and essential resources are fully prepared to relocate residents if needed. All government departments remain on high alert to execute immediate response actions during potential emergencies.
Residents have been strongly advised against venturing near water bodies during the ongoing spell of bad weather and are urged to adhere strictly to official advisories while avoiding non-essential travel in flood-prone areas.
