POONCH, July 25 — Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology and Environment, and Tribal Affairs Javed Ahmed Rana visited Dhara Sangla in Surankote on Saturday as part of his ongoing tour across the flood and landslide-hit Pir Panjal region. During his visit, he met with families impacted by recent natural disasters to review ground-level relief work, assess structural damages, and guarantee swift government aid.
Accompanying MLA Surankote Choudhary Mohammad Akram and key departmental officials, Javed Ahmed Rana expressed condolences to families who lost loved ones. He emphasized that the Omar Abdullah government stands firmly with every affected household and is monitoring the situation closely to ensure immediate relief, fair compensation, and long-term rehabilitation.
Throughout his multi-day inspection of remote and hard-hit villages, Javed Ahmed Rana reviewed damages to residential houses, roadways, agricultural land, and essential utilities like water and power lines. He instructed district administration officials to expedite property loss assessments so affected citizens receive compensation without delay. To prevent future disasters in vulnerable areas, he directed departments to create comprehensive protective plans and restore critical infrastructure on a war footing.
