SRINAGAR July 26— The Jammu Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) remains completely closed for vehicular movement following a massive landslide that struck near Gangroo in Banihal late yesterday evening.
Maintenance crews and authorities are currently working to clear the heavy debris off the stretch, but traffic movement will remain suspended until the road is deemed entirely safe for transit.Commuters and motorists are strongly advised to defer their travel plans along the route due to continuous threats of shooting stones and secondary landslides in the area.
Authorities have cautioned the public against relying on unverified rumors regarding the opening of the highway and have urged commuters to monitor official traffic police updates on social media channels or contact local Traffic Control Units at Jammu, Srinagar, Ramban, and Udhampur before setting out.
