Jammu Smart City Projects Fast-Tracked: CM Advisor Orders Completion Ahead of Amarnath Yatra

JAMMU, MAY 19 — Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Chief Minister, conducted a comprehensive review of key infrastructure and development initiatives under Jammu Smart City Limited today, ordering officials to fast-track major projects before the annual Amarnath Yatra begins. Accompanied by Director Projects Sunil Thusu and other senior officials, Wani first inspected the Rs 16-crore TATA e-Bus Depot being developed under the FAME-II initiative for the PM e-Bus Sewa project. Praising the progress of the eco-friendly transport initiative, the Advisor emphasized that these smart city projects are visibly transforming Jammu into a cleaner, greener, and more organized urban center, and he directed the team to ensure the early completion and inauguration of the bus service in a mission-mode approach.

Following the transit review, the Advisor visited the upcoming Rs 11-crore Waste to Wonder Park, which is currently at 80 percent physical completion and originally slated for a late June 2026 opening. Wani interacted with the artisans crafting 14 replica monuments—including seven international, five national, and two Uttar Pradesh landmarks—out of scrap and recycled materials. Applauding the creativity of the project as a major boost for tourism, environmental sustainability, and public recreation, he explicitly instructed authorities to accelerate the remaining work so the park can open before the Amarnath Yatra, allowing pilgrims and tourists alike to experience Jammu’s first-of-its-kind eco-attraction. Concluding his tour, Wani reiterated the government’s firm commitment to accelerating urban development and transforming Jammu into a modern, citizen-friendly hub equipped with sustainable infrastructure.
