JAMMU, July 13, 2026: The Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested two men and recovered approximately 32 grams of suspected heroin from their possession in Bishnah during a routine patrol.
A police team from the Bishnah police station was conducting area checking and patrolling when they noticed two individuals moving under suspicious circumstances.
The police personnel intercepted and apprehended both suspects on the spot.The arrested individuals have been identified as Anish Kumar, a resident of Deoli, and Daljeet Singh, a resident of Makhanpur, Bishnah.
During a search conducted under standard legal procedures, the police recovered the suspected heroin, locally known as chitta, from the duo.
Because the suspects could not provide a lawful justification for possessing the narcotic substance, the police registered a case against them under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
The recovered contraband was seized and sealed. An investigation is currently underway to trace the source of the drugs, their intended destination, and any forward or backward supply linkages.
